New Update of Gaming Features in Window 11
New Update of Gaming Features in Window 11 is coming. A few new PC gaming capabilities are now available with the Windows 11 2022 update. The Xbox Game Bar’s new Controller Bar update, windowed game mode optimization, and new HDR calibration options make up the bulk of the new features.
With the addition of the Controller Bar, the Xbox Game Bar is now more controller-friendly and offers quick access to recently played games and launchers. By pushing the Xbox button on a linked controller, the new menu can be accessed.
For gamers, the update includes some graphic upgrades. DirectX 10 and 11 windowed games will now take advantage of a feature that was previously restricted to full screen play, touting “dramatically improved display latency, Auto HDR, and variable refresh rate (VRR).
With a new HDR Calibration tool created to “enhance the color accuracy and consistency” of HDR displays, players with HDR-capable displays will also be able to get more out of their technology.
Even though these are the most significant updates in the new patch, Xbox also highlights a number of other minor advancements to gaming capabilities, including support for Auto HDR, improvements to DirectX12 Ultimate, and expanded Direct Storage compatibility.
